Americans Aren’t Getting Enough R&R When They Vacation — Are You?
Are Americans Getting Enough R&R?
According to employment site Glassdoor, 75% of Americans with paid time off didn’t take all of their allotted totals throughout 2013. Most Americans, by contrast, chose to keep at least some of their PTO hours or, more surprisingly, allow them to disappear entirely.
America’s vacationing habits seem even stranger when put under a microscope. Less than 25% of United States citizens used all their PTO time in a given year. It proves that Americans like to work and that despite any evidence to the contrary, the country is full of people who would rather drive the massive American society forward than take any time for themselves.
To intensify the irregularity of this approach to vacationing, 60% of Americans claim that when they do finally go on vacation — they’re still working or maintaining contact with coworkers.
It’s time to think about relaxing a little more on vacation. Luxury resorts, luxury villas, resorts, and vacation rentals of all kinds are available to help even the most steadfast and work-hungry American put down their cell phone and get some RandR.
Villa rentals are available nearly any place where there’s a large tourism and vacationing industry, as well as an abundance of beachfront property for them to inhabit. For that reason, warm climates are a more popular destination across the board for most vacationers in America.
Staying in a rental property has its advantages over staying in a hotel and similar facilities. In an example, a rental property is actually (usually) a home, and can therefore accommodate visitors more comfortably. When vacationing, people like to have access to full kitchens, and other facilities they may have not otherwise had access to if they were staying in something like a hotel.
These properties are great value for the money. Consider that the only way to otherwise find yourself sleeping, eating, cooking, and enjoying yourself in a beachfront property is if you’ve just purchased it yourself. Those properties are extremely expensive and exclusive, and vacation rentals are a great place for people to be able to get a slice of that life for much cheaper than average.
